Multi Residential

For your townhouses, duplex, unit complex or multi residential project, McKDD will ensure your project yields the most cost effective and efficient number of units to ensure the return on investment is achieved. The initial brief is critical to the success of the project.

McKDD will maximize the site coverage and calculate the best outcome for the car parking, landscaping, waste management requirements and investigate relevant town planning guidelines applicable. We will attend Prelodgement meetings with Council officers on your behalf to determine the likely support of your Town Planning Application and if successful, McKiernan Design Drafting will prepare building design plans, coordinate external specialist consultants and lodge the application on your behalf.

Many of our valued clients are repeat customers which is a testimony to our personal service and result focused approach.

We are also experienced in designing, coordinating and obtaining approval for Budget Accommodation Buildings, Backpacker Hostel, Bed and Breakfast Accommodation and Temporary Accommodation Buildings in both Class 1B and Class 3 building classifications. We will coordinate with Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFRS) and Council compliance officers to ensure your building complies with latest Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Queensland Development Code MP 2.1 Fire Safety in Budget Accommodation Buildings. We can prepare the Fire Safety Management Plan (FSMP) and advise of required building upgrades to early warning of fire safety systems including smoke alarms, emergency lighting, emergency exits, portable fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

These types of multi residential accommodation developments are typically for seasonal strawberry fruit pickers, university students, mining camps or remote construction sites.

McKDD has wide experience emphasising design quality in the multi residential sector as well as aged care and social housing.
